I just finished reading the “novel” Kanye posted on twitter and I have to say that this is the reason why I respect this guy’s drive. Sure, his character is very much questionable but don’t we all have our own flaws and demons to deal with?

The fashion industry is very cut throat. Respect is earned and not given regardless of who you are. It is definitely not a respecter of person, title or seniority. If you put in a lot of unpaid work, sleepless nights, meet the right people, you may excel. It’s definitely not for the faint at heart and thats why I respect every one working in it.

Anywho, on to the point. This guy has been working toward his fashion dream for the past 8 years. He interned at LV and Gusippe Zanotti. Kanye West interned just like the next man. He didn’t go in thinking that just because he’s Kanye West that he was going to be able to just make a line under some haute couture name and I respect that. Even though he was told ‘no’ several times, he preservered. In 2011, he launched his very first line and even though it didn’t meet pretty much anyone’s expectation that wasn’t the point. The goal with any venture that you start is FOLLOWING THROUGH! Finishing what you start despite the bumps in the road. So many people start, put in work and then get discouraged so they eventually end up giving up. But he didn’t even after all the “no’s” and all the haters.  I do believe over time his collections will become epic and he will eventually become one of the greats if he sticks with it.

There’s soooooooo many things that I want to do and I’ve come to realize that my biggest enemy is me. I have easily come up with at 6 ideas that could make anyone a millionaire in a year. But, I manage to tell myself no before I let God say yes; or anyone else for that matter. Reading this was so inspiring and it showed me that you can accomplish anything no matter who you are. With PERSISTENCE, DRIVE and a little FAITH anything is obtainable. No matter how many people don’t like you, tell you no, how many years it takes to get there or how much competition you have, it’s obtainable.
